Trinity Ontario High School (TOHS) has met all inspection requirements to be accredited and is authorized to issue credits for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Our online courses align with the Ontario Curriculum.

TOHS offers online courses that enable students in Canada and abroad to earn their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). To obtain an OSSD, students must earn a total of 30 credits, pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), and complete 40 hours of community service.

No, all credits earned through Trinity Ontario High School hold the same value as credits earned in any other Ontario school. It is recommended that students consult with the admission office of their chosen university/college to confirm their policies.

Our teachers consist of Ontario certified teachers and highly experienced educators specialized in various subjects such as Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts. They prioritize the well-being and learning of our students. Communication with course teachers is facilitated through the online platform Canvas, where students can reach out with questions and concerns.

Once you complete the registration process, you will receive a welcome email from your instructor containing all the necessary information to begin your course, including login instructions and course structure. It may take 1-4 weeks to process your registration and provide you with a confirmed course start date.

To meet the graduation requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT), students must successfully complete the Grade 10 literacy requirement. The OSSLT, administered by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), evaluates students’ reading and writing skills based on the Ontario curriculum expectations up to Grade 9.

The test assesses students’ literacy skills, determining if they have acquired the necessary reading and writing abilities outlined in the provincial expectations. It also helps identify areas where students may require additional support and remediation.

For students who do not pass the test, remedial assistance will be provided to help them improve their skills and prepare for a retake of the literacy test. Alternatively, students can fulfill the literacy graduation requirement by successfully completing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC), which was introduced in 2003. Passing the OSSLC is considered equivalent to meeting the literacy requirement.

The final evaluation will consider evidence from various sources, such as examinations, performances, essays, or other suitable evaluation methods related to the course content. It provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their comprehensive achievement of the overall course expectations.

In Grades 9–12, the final grade for each course is determined as follows: 70% of the grade is based on evaluations conducted throughout the course. This portion reflects the student’s consistent level of achievement, with consideration given to more recent evidence. The remaining 30% of the grade is determined by a final evaluation, which may include an examination, performance essay, or other suitable assessment conducted towards the end of the course.

Typically, credit courses involve 110 hours of planned instruction, with the exception of half credits, which have 55 planned instructional hours. Students are encouraged to adhere to the planned hours of instruction within reasonable limits.

As this result, you have the flexibility to set your own pace and complete the course within a period of up to 4 months.

Upon completion and request, we can send a copy of the final report card to the day school on file or submit marks to OUAC, OCAS, or the university for 101 applications. If you are applying to post-secondary education, we can also send marks directly to OUAC, OCAS, or the university for 105 applications.

At TOHS, you have the flexibility to complete the course at your own pace within 4 months. Once you have completed half of the course evaluations, you will receive midterm feedback (report card). Upon completing all course evaluations, including the final culminating evaluations, you will be eligible to receive a final report card.

Your teacher will grade your exam and submit your final grade approximately 5 days after your FCE report is submitted (this can vary depending on how much work has been submitted by the student toward the end of the course). The report card will then be generated and processed within 3 business days. Report cards will be sent to the student or their day schools.
